A
graduate of The Ohio State College of Veterinary medicine in 1994, Dr.
Evelyn Orenbuch has worked in several mixed and small animal veterinary
hospitals in the Philadelphia area where she grew up and in North Carolina
where she lived for 6 years after graduation. Dr. Orenbuch trained in veterinary chiropractic at
Options for Animals
and was certified by the American
Veterinary Chiropractic Association in 1999.
She left the traditional animal hospital setting in January of
2003 when she started her own business, Orenbuch Veterinary Chiropractic.
Dr. Orenbuch added veterinary acupuncture to her services in 2004 upon
completing the veterinary acupuncture course given by the
International
Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). She also trained at the
Canine Rehab
Institute in Florida, completing the courses and testing in December
of 2004.
Sports medicine for performance and working dogs is
where she focuses much of her time. Several of her patients are
nationally and internationally ranked agility and working dogs.
The geriatric, usually arthritic dog is her next
most commonly seen patient. She has been able to give these
older loving friends a new lease on life. Dogs with neurologic
disorders such as IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), DM (degenerative
myelopathy), and other spinal cord or peripheral nerve injuries are also some of
the common cases that she treats with skills of physical medicine and
rehabilitation (PM&R). However, she has applied these skills toward
all kinds of dogs, horses and cats as well. Please see our
Clients
page to meet a few.
When Dr. Orenbuch is not working she is an internationally competitive
paddler in Dragon Boating
and canoeing. She also enjoys traveling and has volunteered as a
veterinarian in Guatemala, Israel, Mexico, Thailand and the Native
American reservations in South Dakota.
